Lord you are my strength, you are my refuge, you are my fortress in times of distress. God is the makers of all things. Without Him there would be nothing. Have you ever thought about that, truly thought about what would be without God. There would be no trees, no grass, no sky, no clouds, no stars, no ground to stand on, no animals, no people, there would be absolutely NOTHING without Him. He is the creator of EVERYTHING. 

The scriptures tell us that "the heavens declare the glory of God" and leave men without excuse. The shear fact there is anything to worry about shows that there is a God, yet we spend so much of our time worrying about "things" that we loose sight of the creator of these "things." I'm guilty of this too.

God has shown me over and over again that He is taking care of the problems in my life, but when the problems come I start worrying and fretting over them. I try to resolve them and I put so much effort into doing so that I loose site of what God is doing. I get wrapped up in the technicalities and the things within my reach that I take my burden back from God. What's worse, I delude myself into thinking I'm still giving it to God, because I continue to pray about the situation. I pray for all the details, I get bogged down in what's going on and what I need to pray for specifically to get to the goal, and it never even occurs to me that my prayers are lacking respect for what God is doing.

God can do ANYTHING! This is His world. He created it and everything in it. He loves it and everything in it and He knows what's going on better than I do. He knows all the details of the puzzle and exactly how they fit. Not a single hair on our head can be touched without the permission of God. He is in control. What then am I supposed to do? Be still.

"Be still and know that I am God." Wait on the Lord. Stop stressing, stop trying to figure it out. Stop trying to solve the equation or the puzzle. Stop taking the burden back. God is all-powerful and so in love with you. Why wouldn't He take care of you? He's a God of the details. Just look at the flowers or the bugs. How perfect have they been created for their eco-system? God created each and everything for a specific purpose and they serve it perfectly. Sometimes they are irritating, like mosquitos, but that doesn't mean they don't serve a purpose. Our struggles are like that, they too serve a purpose. They are to bring us closer to God and get us to stop looking at ourselves. Yet on the other hand, our problems are also a tool of the devil to take our eyes off of God.

So don't let the devil win. Put your eyes on God. Ask Him each morning what you can do for Him. Cast your burdens on Him and have faith that He has big enough shoulders to carry it. Be still and let God do what He's doing. God is the creator and sustainer, the giver of life and He loves you, so LET HIM!
