The Vetting Process — A Class on Evaluating Truth Claims

October 24 @ 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM EDT

A framework so you never feel duped again.

If you’ve ever believed something wholeheartedly and then found out it wasn’t true, you know how that shapes you going forward. It makes you cautious. Skeptical. Maybe even a little cynical. And when that experience involves faith — a pastor, a church, a theological claim — it can make you question everything.

This class teaches a transferable skill: how to evaluate any truth claim on your own terms. We’ll apply it to a secular example first, then to Christianity — because the process should work the same regardless of what’s being evaluated. The goal isn’t to convince you of anything. It’s to give you a framework so you’re never at the mercy of whoever sounds most confident.

What we’ll cover

  • The meta-skill of evaluating truth claims — source, evidence, consistency, motive
  • The vetting framework applied to a secular example first (a scam, a fad)
  • Applying the same framework to Christianity
  • Why having a process protects you from being manipulated
  • A reframe: critical thinking and faith are not opposites

This class is for you if…

  • You’ve believed something wholeheartedly and later found out it wasn’t true
  • You’ve been burned by a leader, a church, or a theological claim and now you question everything
  • You want to believe but you’re not willing to just take someone’s word for it anymore
  • You’re tired of feeling like you have to check your brain at the door to have faith
  • You want a framework for deciding what to trust — not just in faith, but in life

This class holds both head and heart. If you’re carrying something heavier than a single class can hold, that’s exactly what 1-on-1 coaching is for.

About Kristen

Kristen Davis holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy of Religion and an MA in Christian Apologetics. She’s the founder of DoubtLess Faith and has spent years helping people work through the intellectual and emotional barriers that keep them from connecting with God — including the shame so many carry around their own doubt. She’s the kind of person you can ask the questions you’ve been afraid to ask out loud.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need any background in theology or philosophy?

No. This class is designed to meet you where you are — no prerequisites, no assumed knowledge. If you’re coming in curious or skeptical, you’re in exactly the right place.

Is this a church service or devotional?

No. There’s no altar call, no pressure to reach a particular conclusion, and no assumption that your doubt is a problem to fix by the end of the hour.

What if what comes up feels bigger than a single class can hold?

That’s common, and this class is meant to be a starting point, not the whole path. If what surfaces needs more space than an hour allows, 1-on-1 coaching is built for exactly that kind of deeper work.

What if I’m not ready to register yet?

No problem. If you’re still deciding, join the email list and I’ll send you a short overview of what we’ll cover. No pressure — just the information.
